Very funny stuff! I’m now a follower.
Not to diminish your skill in any way, I have dabbled with, but sadly lost interest in a Bamboo Pen here: https://kat5361.wordpress.com/2010/12/31/bamboo-pen-experiment-7/

I just started following your blog. Mainly because I couldn’t think of any good reason why I shouldn’t. And also because I saw the words New York somewhere up there. I won’t hold it against you that you actually live in Salt Lake City. Someone has to, and it might as well be you.

I used to live in New York. I lived on Long Island for a while and then eventually moved into the city. I bought a road bike at a terrible and odd shop near Hicksville and the man who sold it to me said, “That’s a nice bike.” And then I road it around the park and someone road up next to me and said, “That’s a nice bike,” though his tone was more threatening. Anywhere I’d ride it someone would make that same comment to me. “That’s a nice bike.” I’ve ridden a lot since I’ve moved here and I haven’t gotten that line once. Which I think is a pretty good way to describe the differences between the two places.
And that is the end of my random story.

I agree, many New Yorker’s subscribe to a rather particular brand of madness one rarely encounters elsewhere. As Craig Anton once quipped, “I saw a license plate yesterday that said ‘I Miss New York,’ so I smashed their window and stole their radio.”
